Maths for year 4 students

Good morning to all!

Today we are going to continue so we can understand better what equivalent fractions are.

Let's remember:

What is a fraction?
A fraction represents a part of a whole.

What are equivalent fractions?
Equivalent fractions are fractions with different numbers that show the same part of a whole. They have different numerators and denominators, but the fractional values are the same.

Yesterday I explained how to multiply to get an equivalent fractions. Today we are going to see more equivalent fractions by dividing.
Dividing
Here are some more equivalent fractions, this time by dividing:

÷ 3÷ 6
